Village 4th Roadshow

July 4th

Beginning at 11:30am, everyone’s favorite patriotic parade kicks off the Independence Day celebrations in Montecito. The roadshow starts at Upper Manning Park & ends at Lower Manning Park at 2:00pm. Featuring food, games & live entertainment, you won’t want to miss this family-friendly annual tradition!

 

Montecito Fire Dept. Pancake Breakfast

July 4th

Following a two-year hiatus, Fire Station 91 (595 San Ysidro Road) invites the Montecito community over for a Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast. Tickets are $10 and pancakes will be served from 7 to 11am.

Come eat with the firefighters before the festivities of the day begin!

 

Fourth of July Fireworks Show

July 4th

The City of Santa Barbara’s traditional Fourth of July beachfront celebration is back again! Held at the beautiful Santa Barbara waterfront and Stearns Wharf, the afternoon and evening will include food vendors, arts and crafts, local musicians, and more.

At State Street and Micheltorena, a parade will begin at 1 pm and continues down to Cota Street. The fireworks show will end the night at West Beach at 9 pm.

 

California Wine Festival

July 15th & 16th

One of the largest outdoor wine festivals in the state returns to Santa Barbara’s sunny beachside location for a weekend of fine wines, tasty food, and live music. The festival promises to be a weekend to remember for wine-lovers everywhere!

 

Sipping on the Sea

July 21st

Double Dolphin is hosting its monthly Sipping on the Sea event on July 21st from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This month, the featured vendor is Grassini Family Vineyards. A sommelier will pour the tastings and give background on their selection, while your Captain provides insights on the surroundings. Enjoy a beautiful Santa Barbara sunset aboard the yacht while sipping local wine.

 

Old Spanish Days Fiesta

August 3rd - 7th

For the first time in three years, a complete Fiesta will return to Santa Barbara––including the historic parade, both Mercados, and a variety of dances and celebrations throughout the community. The city’s rich heritage comes alive during this 5-day party with many unique events.

 

Mujeres Makers Market

July 3rd

From 10am to 4pm, come shop and support over 50 women-owned businesses at this monthly community market highlighting women of color businesses. Shop small & local at El Presidio de Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara Bowl Summer Concert Series

Every year, the Santa Barbara Bowl boasts an incredible lineup of concerts and performances. This summer promises no exceptions, with shows by Bob Dylan, The Goo Goo Dolls, Flume, Josh Groban, Brandi Carlile, and many more.

 

Butterflies Alive!

Through September 5th, walk through the Museum of Natural History’s beautiful garden while nearly 1,000 live butterflies flutter around you. In the Sprague Butterfly Pavilion, the exhibit includes a fantastic variety of butterflies, from exotic species to local favorites. While observing these beautiful creatures up close, you will learn about their life cycle and behavior firsthand!

 

Sunday Polo

Recurring weekly on Sundays until October, plan a visit to the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. An experience like no other, the polo transports its patrons to a different time, where the ladies wear their finest hats and the gentlemen dress to the nines. Enjoy this thrilling sport while nibbling on yummy charcuterie bites.

 

Free Summer Cinema

Enjoy the free Summer Cinema at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse every Friday through August. What could be better than watching a classic film on a warm summer night? Special showings include Dirty Dancing, Thelma and Louise, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Moonrise Kingdom, and In the Heights.

 

Going Global: Abstract Art at Mid-Century

Opening June 21 at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, “This exhibition shows just how far abstraction reached and some of the forms it took during the Cold War, when glossy color magazines and proliferating fairs brought a globalized art world into being.” Featuring artists from around the world, check out this dazzling new exhibit while it is in town!

 

Santa Barbara Music Academy 

Amid their regular concerts and performances, the prestigious Music Academy will host a Picnic Concert Series, competitions for singers and musicians, and several special events. Don’t miss out on these beautiful showcases of musical talent!

 

UCSB Arts & Lectures

With a mission to “educate, entertain and inspire,” Arts & Lectures annually presents more than a hundred events at the UC Santa Barbara campus and local venues. These events range from dance and concert performances to talks by revolutionary authors, comedy shows, and film series.

 

NEW RESTAURANTS TO TRY

 

LOCAL Montecito

Coast Village Road’s newest culinary addition is now open and is already making epicurean waves. LOCAL’s menu features handmade pasta, Korean maple glazed chicken wings, freshly cracked oysters, and juicy steak frites. That is just the tip of the iceberg for this mouthwatering cuisine. Don’t miss the restaurant’s live music on Monday and Wednesday, where local singer-songwriters entertain patrons as they dine.

 

Bell's x Tyler Winery Lunch Series

August 26th

Popular Michelin-star restaurant collaboration with the team at Tyler Winery in Lompoc, CA. Together, they are co-hosting twice-monthly, five-course prix-fixe delicious vineyard lunches that support Feed The Valley––a non-profit organization that fights food insecurity in the Santa Ynez region.

 

Broad Street Oyster Company
