The spacious eat-in kitchen and family room capture the essence of the ocean with a dreamy color palette of coastal blues, dove gray, and silvery white.

Designed with more than just aesthetics in mind, the kitchen is eminently functional as well as absolutely beautiful.

A dramatic floor to ceiling marble slab stands behind the La Cornue range and compliments the pearlescent white counters. Dual pewter sinks bring a weathered patina to the space that feels both elegantly vintage yet perfectly modern.

The southerly side of the family room fans out in a demi-lune wall of windows that look to the ocean while an original 1939 art-deco light fixture fills the room with a soft glow. Perfectly positioned to be in the mix of the kitchen, yet out of the way, the family room is a wonderful place to lounge, watch the evening news, or get lost in adaydream.

Perfect for an afternoon lost in your favorite book, or watching this weekend’s big game.  Black and white marble floors are carried from the hall, throughout the room and extend through French doors to a private terrace. Leave the doors ajar for a fragrant breeze and to eavesdrop on a statue of Buddha and his gentle mummers to a garden fountain.

Two westerly offices, one adjacent to the kitchen and one just down the hall, are wonderful places to stay organized, foster creativity, or catch up on emails. In the first, a Juliet balcony overlooks an outdoor dining pavilion. The second, and larger, has rich, jewel-tone painted custom millwork that adds an air of passion, and function, to the room.

A barrel-vaulted galleria

Leads past an uber-cool laundry room that is topped with a tin ceiling. This wing is also home to a romantic en-suite bedroom with a pair of Juliet balconies and hand-painted silver details on the walls of the bath. The galleria, aglow in Venetian plaster, also connects the residence to the central courtyard and fills the home with natural light.

The master suite

Anchors the southeasterly corner of the home and overlooks the incredible ocean views. A radius bank of windows adds a graceful curvature to the space and is a buoyant counterpart to the stoic marble fireplace. Delicate Venetian plaster walls, like all of those on the southerly side of the estate, honor the quintessential aura of a misty coastal life.

The Master bathroom

Enter the master bath through a custom door, highlighted by chic silver leaf and custom hardware. Fluid veins in the white and black marble counters balance the structure of a Greek key design found on the floors and in the shower. A beautiful soaking tub carved from a single block of marble looks to a private garden and offers a peaceful way to unwind after a long day. The expansive walk-in closet is perfection; wardrobe storage has never looked so chic!

vintage alabaster G.W. Smith chandelier

The powder room is an exquisite jewel box. Dewdrop in shape, this space is crowned with a gold leaf ceiling and a vintage alabaster G.W. Smith chandelier Mother-of-pearl and golden orbs seem to scurry and flutter amidst the immovable marble walls. The resulting dance is a true work of art for the ages.

Rounding out the north east corner of the home, a beautiful bedroom suite awaits friends and loved ones. With French doors to the central courtyard, guests enjoy autonomy as they come and go as they please.
